What inspired you to launch o yikes?
I wanted a bag that would match mine and my husband’s lifestyle. We’re active parents on the go and wanted a bag that could keep up without looking too much like we were going camping. We also wanted a bag that had an urban feel… so long story short I decided to design a bag that would meet my needs. Now as a mom of an active toddler, it’s great. I can keep my hands free to keep up with him.
How long have you been in business?
2 years
What is the most rewarding part of being a Mompreneur?
Open schedule so I can volunteer at my kindergartner’s school. It’s also wonderful to meet other moms with a similar background - carrying my bag.
How many children do you have in the household?
One, but as I mentioned he’s very active so sometimes it feels like I had twins.
What is the mot difficult part of being a Mompreneur?
Same as above, the open schedule makes it difficult to stop working. You try to fit in emails here and there then pretty soon, it’s morning. When we first launched, I found myself up at 3 am jumping back and forth sewing 50 superhero capes and writing copy for my website. (The capes were party favors for my son’s 3rd birthday party and the copy was for the launch of our site - both of which would happen in a couple of days.)
Do you have advice for someone that wants to start a new career as a Momprenuer?
Go for it, don’t wait, but make sure to prioritize - personal and business.
